Sharing Joy!! :)
This video sums up the magical energy of the International Day of Juicing so beautifully! I feel so blessed to have shared in this special event with so many wonderful people that have educated and inspired me along my journey. This video speaks volumes! It truly captures the pure joy that living this lifestyle offers each and every one of us. It was an experience I will never forget and will hold dear to my heart forever.
Sharing in the joy of living this healthy happy lifestyle at the International Day of Juicing has been a life changing event for me! It has stayed with me day in and day out since I've gotten home. It's hard to capture the feelings of being immersed in such a powerful wave of joyous energy, but I think this video captures it beautifully!! All my love to Dave the Raw Food Trucker for encouraging me to fly out to share my story, convincing me I even HAD a story worth sharing & most of all having the faith in me that he does. What a gift!
Since returning from my trip to Seattle I have received many questions regarding the foods that I enjoy.
I've decided to include that info in each of my posts along with whatever Simple Pleasures come my way :)
I have learned along this journey that the road to healthy happiness begins with the foods we use to nourish our bodies, yet the rewards stretch far beyond the weight loss and renewed health. A gentle shift begins to take place as you include more whole living foods into your day. It is subtle and sweet and seems to fill a void for me that I wasn't quite aware was there. I feel more peaceful, more at home in my own body. It is truly a gift!
I encourage anyone setting out on their own path to try and listen to your body, really listen. When I'm hungry, I don't ignore that feeling like I did in my dieting days.I have a kitchen stocked with healthy choices and snacks I carry in my purse at all times .I am a happier person when my tummy is full! I have also learned to stop eating when I am satisfied, because I just don't feel well when I am stuffed. Many of the foods I eliminated along the way have been foods that left me feeling bloated, bogged down or uncomfortable, it was that simple. I learned, slowly but surely, to trust the cues my body was giving me. It is a gradual process that happens naturally and it has made a world of difference in the food choices I make today.
I am always in awe of the vibrant colors of whole natural foods! The food is a beautiful as it is delicious and I sometimes wonder if it's beauty just adds to the taste!
This is what I have enjoyed to day so far :)

How to make nutritious, delicious green smoothies
Good Morning :)
Here's a video I made showing you just how easy it is to blend up a nutritious, satisfying and delicious green smoothie. Below that are instructions for making them in a kitchen blender. You don't have to use a high speed blender, if you don't have one, don't let that stop you.
Green smoothies have worked their magic on me ~ it's all about getting your greens in! Once I began adding the greens into my diet, my palate began to change slowly but surely!
I began to lose my taste for sugars and carbohydrates, without any effort. I found myself replacing them with more fruits and veggies, enjoying them like I never had before. It was a change that occurred gradually and naturally and helped me to become the healthier, happier gal I am today!
I am 116 lbs lighter and feeling fantastic :)
Ingredients
1 granny smith apple
1 banana
2 carrots
2 celery stalks
1 cucumber peeled
2 large handfuls of spinach
1 inch piece of ginger peeled
1 tsp raw honey
1 cup of water ~ approx.
blend 1 cup of water with spinach
add each ingredient one by one ~ stirring in a circular motion with tamper
blend until smooth
add more water to fill till top
I always store my smoothies in a 16 oz. Ball mason jar.
They will last up to 2 days in the fridge
be sure to refrigerate them soon after making them.
Today I use a Vitamix , which is a high speed blender, but I didn't start with one in the beginning. It's not necessary to have the Vitamix! Your smoothie will just have a creamier consistency and you don't have to chop up your fruit. Using a regular kitchen blender is fine. You should chop up any firm fruits in smaller pieces if you are using your kitchen blender.

Time to make a green smoothie!
Anyone can do it . It's easy ~ have FUN with it. ~ you can be creative ~ The main thing is to enjoy your green smoothie & get those greens in!!
There are so many different recipes for green smoothies out there ~ so many lovely choices of fruits and greens to pick from. Let's start with the one I began with and is still one of my favorites today. It's really simple to whip up.
It's rich in nutrients ~ low in calories ~ extremely filling and really delicious!
You are going to need a blender.
I use a Vitamix , which is a high speed blender, but I didn't start with one in the beginning. It's not necessary to have the Vitamix! Your smoothie will just have a creamier consistency and you don't have to chop up your fruit. Using a regular kitchen blender is fine. You should chop up any firm fruits in smaller pieces if you are using your kitchen blender.
I'm going to use a regular kitchen blender for this since that's what most people have...
Ingredients:
1 apple
2 bananas ( to sweeten it more add another banana )
2 carrots
1 celery stalk
1 peeled cucumber
2 handfuls of spinach
1 1/2 cup of water
Wash everything really well ~ slice your apple and carrots to blend easily
Directions ~ it's important not to add all ingred. at once ~ they won't blend properly
blend approx. 30 seconds each time
add 1 cup of water
all spinach .... Blend for abt 30 seconds
add carrots & blend
add rest of water & blend
add apple slices & blend
add celery & blend
add cucumber slices & blend
add bananas & blend until creamy
ENJOY!!
Feel free to add more fruit ~ any fruits if you prefer it sweeter to start ~ your tastebuds will ask for less and less fruit as you continue drinking them ~ I PROMISE!!!
I would love some feedback.... Feel free to ask any questions, share your thoughts or share your own green smoothie recipes ~ let's have some fun with this :)
