Sweet Treats!

Every now & then I get a craving for a little something sweet!
Raw desserts are one way people become interested in the world of raw foods. They're really simple to prepare, usually just mixing & blending a few ingredients together. I'm a big fan of looking around the kitchen to see what I've got, deciding what I'm in the mood for, then just  making whatever strikes my fancy. Intuitive eating & preparing is something that kind of  evolved along the way for me. I stopped relying on recipes except for a little guidance now & then. I throw a pinch of this or a handful of that, tasting along the way. I've never been disappointed with anything that I've come up with!
This is such a beautiful thing about raw foods, not just desserts!  As long as I have my kitchen well stocked I can always make something simple & satisfying at a moments notice.
Whether I do use a recipe or just create something on my own, I can truly say that
I LOVE everything I eat now  ~ guilt free! Desserts are now an occasional treat that I really enjoy. After a lifetime of dieting this is really very exciting! to me!

I don't make the cacao ones like I have below too often, I make them for a holiday or to share the recipe with family & friends. I prefer something like a date with a few almonds or a hemp shake with fruit when I'm feeling like something sweet. But it's great to have a few special desserts recipes that are simple & delicious because....
they are one of life's Simple Pleasures!!

Here's a few sweet treats I've prepared recently...

Coconut cacao fudge bars
1 1/2 cup pitted dates
1/3 cup cacao powder

1 tsp vanilla powder

handful walnuts for bar ( set aside a few to top bars)

Blend all the above ingredients well in food processor
form into 1 large bar
top with set aside shredded coconut & walnuts
refrigerate overnight or put in freezer for a while to firm up
cut into squares
You can also enjoy them as soon as they're ready!! Whichever you prefer  :)

Sharing Smoothies & Happiness

I am back from my hiatus and happy to be here! I apologize for the lack of posts lately... I have been up to my ears in projects and realize that I have to cut back and focus on what's most important.to me. And keeping up my blog on a regular basis is one of those things!. So I will continue to share the little joys I find in my days along with any interesting, inspirational and educational info that I enjoy...

One of the things I've been doing lately that really makes me happy,  is something that has blossomed without any effort on my part. Who would have thought? Here I am trying to find my little niche for sharing  about the healthy happiness I've found and it was staring me right in the face! Isn't life funny? I have no grand plans for this little undertaking but this is something that I am passionate about and brings me great joy!! And that's what truly matters to me....

A little background first....
In the beginning and throughout my musings here I have always talked about my glorious green smoothies.
When I introduced them into my daily routine wonderful things began to happen! My palate began to change slowly but surely and cravings for junk and processed foods simply melted away. They opened the door to a whole new lifestyle of healthy choices, effortless weight loss and renewed healthy. I have wanted nothing more than to share the healing power of green smoothies in hopes that everyone could experience the same magical results that I have found.I truly feel that I have found that magic bullet that everyone is looking for! Perhaps they are not for everyone, but for every single person I know that has started drinking them on a regular basis, the results have been no less exciting! I think this is huge! Yet the one thing I found throughout the past couple years is that most people just don't have the time to make green smoothies for themselves. Oh they do want to drink then and they certainly want the added health benefits, whatever that may be for them. But as often the case in life, time is of the essence. Still it never dawned on me that there was a need there that I could perhaps help fill. Until a friend called and asked me if I would please make them for her on a regular basis. Of course I said I would! I would be more than happy to. And that I did and have been doing for a couple months now. She's thrilled because she feels that drinking them daily is the one truly nurturing thing that she does for herself each day. It's a win win situation for sure! From there it has just blossomed without my saying a word . I am now happily sharing my green smoothies with several people and they are all thrilled! Each one  has a different reason for why they'd like to do this and it's exciting to see all the different results! Whether it is weight loss, feeling more vibrant and energized, reducing stress, lowering cholesterol and blood sugar levels it's all wonderful!!
Sharing such a simple little thing like green smoothies and seeing these small miracles brings me more joy than I can say.....

THIS is one of life's Simple Pleasures!
